You only get to understand what someone else is going through if you were in that situation

My mother just found out that my father, whom they have been married for thirty years has a second family somewhere else. This numbed her, I expected her to throw a fit of rage, but the calm and sophisticated woman that she is, she did not do so. This puzzled everyone especially my father who expected to be even hurt by flying objects but that did not happen. She withdrew from everyone, my husband and I had to come see her every weekend just to check up on her. My mother in law decided to step in because she knew how it felt. At first my mother did not want to talk, so instead they played ,online scrabble every time she went over. There was this one time there was a Wireless Internet Problem and they could not play any more online games. This meant just one thing, she had to talk. At first they just stayed in silence and my mother in law took her out and after that, she loosened up and let out all the rage that she was feeling.
