My friend took me to a night club the other day. Bear in mind the last time I regularly went clubbing, the DJ was playing the likes of Wham! and Duran Duran. Back then we wore day-glo colours, white jeans, trainers, big hair etc. Now though, I felt like I was at a lingerie party or something - the women were bearly dressed. I saw one woman wearing what would appear to be a plus size satin corset on the dance floor! And the music - some of the tracks sounded like my hoover. I just don't understand it - I've always seen myself as a "young" 40-something, yet I could not relate to this generation at all. They do say that the younger generation make sure the previous generations feel old, and they certainly succeeded at this night club. I won't be clubbing it again - well, maybe an 80s theme night or something! |
