Most modern structures are made of either steel or concrete. These two materials are both very sturdy, but they each have their own characteristics.
So when it comes to constructing your building, how do you determine which of the two materials is better for you to use?
Well, this greatly depends on what you intend to do with the building. If you plan to construct a commercial building, steel may be a more practical choice in terms of material. This is because steel is a very flexible material, and it is essential that high rise commercial buildings are flexible enough to withstand any natural calamity (such as an earthquake). However, if you plan to construct a smaller buildings with the intention of using it privately, you may, but don't necessarily have to create steel buildings. In fact, concrete may be a more viable choice. It will provide sturdiness and stability, making the structure safer. A concrete building is also low maintenance compared to a steel building, making it less costly. |
