A Teacher and a Friend Rolled into One

Lila is all grown up. It is much easier to say that now that she is twelve years old. Lila is a good girl. She does not go out of the house much. She would rather spend her free time reading her favorite books in her room. Lila is not the sociable type. She is in fact very shy most of the time. She doesn't like talking much especially in the company of a large group of people. But because she is nice, she is still well liked by her classmates and her teachers, too. Among the closest to Lila is her math teacher, Miss Jones. Even before Lila has invited her to join their family dinner to celebrate her birthday, Miss Jones has already searched for possible birthday presents for girls age 12. Lila was so touched by the thought that her teacher went out of her way to get her something nice. She thanked Miss Jones saying, Thank you, Miss Jones, not only for being a good teacher but more so for being my friend.
